Cancer-related or treatment-related complications can sometimes lead to hospital admission. These situations can be very distressing and require the best technical assistance and human care.
If your clinical condition were to worsen, you were to experience side effects from your cancer treatment that you cannot resolve at home or you were to have the slightest concern about serious changes, do not hesitate to go to our Emergency Department. You will be received by a team that is qualified in dealing with medical emergencies who will apply the protocols and diagnostic techniques most suited to each situation. A trip to the emergency department is never pleasant for anybody. However, our doctors, nurses and auxiliaries will do everything they can to make your experience as pleasant as possible given the circumstances.
The doctors who look after you in the emergency department will be in contact with your oncologist and our team of doctors who will take care of you in the hospital if admission proves inevitable.
If you were to be admitted to hospital, you will be in an individual room with all the amenities you need to make your hospital stay as pleasant as possible within the limitations that we understand hospital admission can entail.

During your hospital stay, you will be seen by members from our team, specialists in Internal Medicine, who will be in contact with the oncologist that is treating you in the Outpatient Practice. The doctors who assist you during your hospital stay have vast experience in caring for cancer patients and constantly communicate with our medical oncology team. Depending on the clinical problem, the hospital team and oncologists will discuss and agree on the therapeutic strategies to follow so as to ensure that your hospital stay is as short as possible and incident free.
